About the Forum

The United Youth and Youth Workers of Boston would like to thank the 200 youth workers and youth leaders who participated in the December 1st forum at the Huntington YMCA! We are excited to move forward and collaborate to develop a strategy to work with elected officials, and to create solutions to issues facing Boston's youth today.

Youth Leaders and Youth Workers will break out into discussions that will help us frame the message we want to deliver at the City Council Hearing in February. Come join us on Thursday January 19th to TAKE ACTION!

YOUTH WORKERS!!! It is very important that teens have a voice in the programs and policies that they are expected to participate in and abide by. We want the hearing at City Hall in February to be the beginning framework for continued discussions with City Officials. We need representation from every neighborhood in Boston. Please make every effort to attend.

At this forum we will:

  1. Discuss United Youth and Youth Workers of Boston's priorities and how they relate to youth violence
  2. Learn about political organizing and political power
  3. Plan a February Hearing with our City Councilors about our priorities

In one community after another, youth leaders and youth workers are taking leadership to address rising violence and other issues. We are doing powerful work in our local communities -- this is a chance to work together to enact our solutions and priorities across the city!

Please RSVP to unitedyouthworkers@yahoo.com with your name, program, and number of people attending. For more information, contact REEP (Roxbury Environmental Empowerment Project) at 617-442-3343, x227.

This event is sponsored by the United Youth and Youth Workers of Boston and supported by Eureka Lodge #8 and the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Massachusetts.
